Key Responsibilities And Deliverables Research, write, edit, and proofread news stories, features, and articles. Read press releases, interview sources, and verify statements and facts. Create scripts for podcast episodes and support content planning. Host and record audio/video discussions, reports, and features. Coordinate with the business development team on new assignments. Collaborate with customers on sponsored content. Attend virtual and in‑person events as required. Deliverables include Well‑researched and accurate written articles and features. Verified interviews, quotes, and factual content. Clear and structured podcast scripts. High‑quality audio/video recordings or contributions. Timely delivery of content for campaigns and sponsored projects. Essential Requirements (must‑haves) Experience and knowledge Proven journalism and research skills. Ability to maintain ethical and objective reporting standards. A good phone manner when speaking with senior industry representatives. Core Skills And Competencies Strong communication and networking skills. Ability to extract information effectively through interviews. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multitask across multiple projects. Digital Workplace Requirements Basic digital literacy and reliable internet connection Proficiency with Gmail and Calendar Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) Video conferencing and messaging tools Desirable Skills And Experience (nice‑to‑haves) Prior experience in journalism, podcasting, audio/video production, or TV. Experience working with community‑focused or social impact organisations. Familiarity with multimedia storytelling tools. Interest in sustainable development, especially in the African context. Remote What will you be doing? We need the volunteer to research and produce high‑quality written and multimedia content that supports our campaigns, projects, and community initiatives. This includes Interviewing sources Verifying facts Writing articles Developing podcast scripts Contributing to audio/video content. The volunteer will help shape narratives that highlight social issues, community stories, and sustainable development themes.
