Role Description The Internal Medicine Specialist at LifeHeart Cardiology will provide comprehensive adult medical care in a remote setting, with a strong focus on patients with cardiovascular conditions and related comorbidities. This contract role includes conducting virtual consultations, obtaining detailed histories, performing focused assessments via telehealth, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing evidence-based treatment plans in coordination with cardiologists and other clinicians. Day-to-day tasks include managing chronic conditions, addressing acute concerns, adjusting medications, reviewing lab and imaging results, and documenting all encounters thoroughly in the electronic health record. The specialist will also participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, provide clear patient education on disease management and preventive care, and collaborate with primary care and specialty teams to ensure continuity and quality of care. Qualifications Strong clinical foundation in Internal Medicine and Medicine, with experience managing complex adult patients across a range of conditions. Relevant experience or training in Cardiology, particularly in managing patients with cardiovascular risk factors and established heart disease. Background in Primary Care and continuity of care, including chronic disease management and preventive medicine. Ability to collaborate effectively with other clinicians, including Working with Physicians and multidisciplinary care teams. Familiarity with Critical Care or step-down care principles is beneficial for managing higher-acuity or high-risk patients remotely. Active, unrestricted medical license in applicable jurisdiction(s); board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine preferred. Experience delivering telemedicine or remote care, with proficiency in electronic health records and secure communication tools. Excellent clinical judgment, concise documentation skills, and clear, empathetic patient communication.
