Senior Project Manager - Infrastructure & Migration Global Life Sciences Organisation | Remote | Contractor | 6-month initial engagement ABOUT THE ROLE Our client is a global organisation operating at significant scale within the Life Sciences sector. They are seeking a Senior Project Manager to take full ownership of a portfolio of high-priority infrastructure and migration projects currently running across their technology estate. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role - not a coordination or oversight position. The successful candidate will be expected to lead from the front, understand the technical detail well enough to drive progress, and hold themselves and their teams accountable for hitting milestones. The immediate priority is the consolidation of legacy SFTP applications onto the organisation's strategic SFTP platform - a high-profile initiative that requires a PM who can manage complexity, communicate clearly with senior stakeholders, and keep delivery moving without constant escalation. Alongside this, the role encompasses DNS/DHCP service migration to the data centre and a series of additional file transfer platform migrations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Take full ownership of the GlobalScape SFTP consolidation project - the highest-profile workstream - from planning and stakeholder alignment through to migration execution and post-go-live stabilisation Lead the migration of DHCP and DNS services to the data centre, managing careful sequencing, dependency mapping, and coordination with the infrastructure team to maintain business continuity Manage concurrent migrations of MoveIt, Cerberus, and SHS Tectia file transfer platforms with the same rigour as the SFTP consolidation Set and maintain delivery cadence across multiple concurrent infrastructure and migration projects, managing dependencies, tracking risks and issues, and ensuring milestones are met Lead mixed project teams comprising both BAU staff and dedicated project resources, aligning and motivating teams with competing priorities Manage a broad stakeholder landscape across IT, infrastructure, and business functions, communicating clearly and maintaining confidence at senior levels particularly under delivery pressure Produce regular delivery reporting, maintain project documentation to a professional standard, and ensure the wider organisation has clear visibility of progress, risks, and decisions required ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Proven senior-level project management experience with a specific focus on infrastructure and migration projects in an enterprise environment Direct, hands-on experience leading complex technical delivery programmes to completion Strong familiarity with SFTP platforms and file transfer technologies - GlobalScape experience is a significant advantage Hands-on experience managing data centre migration projects - understanding the planning, sequencing, testing, and cutover activities involved Proven ability to operate confidently at senior levels across both IT and business functions with strong stakeholder management capability Experience leading mixed project teams comprising both BAU staff and dedicated project resources Genuine comfort working across Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery methodologies and ability to apply the right approach to the right workstream Proactive, ownership-oriented mindset - a PM who finds solutions rather than surfaces problems without resolution Relevant project management certification: PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2 Practitioner, PRINCE2 Agile, or equivalent professional experience and training DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS Direct hands-on experience with GlobalScape EFT or comparable enterprise SFTP platforms Familiarity with MoveIt, Cerberus FTP, or SHS Tectia file transfer platforms Experience managing DNS and DHCP infrastructure migration projects Life Sciences or regulated industry background Familiarity with ITIL-aligned change management processes Experience working in a global, multi-geography technology organisation MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) certification ITIL Foundation certification Agile certifications such as SAFe or Scrum Master CONTRACT DETAILS Contract Type: Contractor Level / Experience: Senior | 10+ Years required Location: Remote Duration: 6-month initial engagement Target Start: Late March 2024 Delivery Environment: Waterfall/Agile/Hybrid
