About The Role
The Human Resources Support Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of our HR functions, payroll, and administrative processes. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director and accountable to the CFO for payroll and finance-related responsibilities, this position offers a flexible hybrid-remote work environment with the ability to travel as needed. The role is part-time, approximately 25 to 28 hours per week, with a focus on supporting employee lifecycle activities, coordinating background checks, assisting with recruitment, and providing backup support for payroll processing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high professionalism, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience providing human resources support.
- Experience with payroll processing, including 5+ years in a multi-state or mid-sized organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, HRIS, and timekeeping systems.
- Knowledge of payroll compliance, wage-and-hour laws, and tax regulations.
- Certifications such as SHRM, PHR, or CPP are preferred.
- Experience supporting finance functions like reconciliations, reporting, and audits is a plus.
- Experience in nonprofit settings is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable internet access and a private workspace to perform remote duties.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational and administrative support across Human Resources, payroll, and business functions to ensure daily organizational efficiency.
- Assist with preparing, processing, and maintaining employment-related documents and records.
- Coordinate all employee background checks, monitor compliance, and ensure renewal deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate and organized personnel files in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Support onboarding activities, including scheduling orientations and employee meetings.
- Support recruitment efforts by posting job openings, extending offers, and tracking applicant progress.
- Maintain HR databases, spreadsheets, and logs to ensure data accuracy and compliance documentation.
- Assist with backup payroll processing, including timekeeping reviews, payroll adjustments, and liaising with finance for timely payroll execution.
- Monitor and support credit card program compliance, reviewing transactions and ensuring proper documentation.
- Participate in audits, compliance activities, and departmental projects as assigned.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to special projects and other operational duties to support organizational goals.
