Role Description:

The Human Resources Director is a full-time, hybrid role responsible for leading and scaling the HR function to support a high-performance, investigative and strategy-focused organization. This role oversees HR policies and processes, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and compensation frameworks, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and legal requirements. The Human Resources Director will manage employee relations, provide guidance to leaders on people-related decisions, and foster an inclusive, transparent, and feedback-oriented culture. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and updating HR policies, advising on labor and employment law matters, handling sensitive employee issues, conducting workforce planning, and supporting learning and development initiatives. The role collaborates closely with senior leadership to design organizational structures, anticipate talent needs, and ensure a consistent and engaging employee experience across the remote workforce.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) leadership, including strategic workforce planning and building HR infrastructure for growing organizations.
• Proficiency in designing, implementing, and updating HR policies that are compliant, equitable, and aligned with organizational values.
• Demonstrated experience in employee relations, including conflict resolution, investigations, coaching, and support for a diverse, remote workforce.
• Hands-on experience with performance management, including goal setting, feedback frameworks, performance reviews, and development planning.
• Sound knowledge of labor and employment law, with the ability to interpret regulations and apply them to HR practices and decisions.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and support senior leadership.
• Experience building or leading HR in media, technology, research, or professional services environments is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field; advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) is a plus.
• Comfort working in a remote-first environment, with strong digital collaboration skills and high personal accountability.
