Director of People Operations / Director of Human Resources
Location: Tampa, FL or Stuart, FL (Hybrid / Remote Consideration)
Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Benefits
About the Opportunity
A rapidly growing multi-entity organization is seeking a Director of People Operations to join its Executive Leadership Team and help build the people infrastructure necessary to support its next phase of growth.
The organization has experienced exceptional growth, increasing annual revenue from approximately $13 million to $25 million and is projected to exceed $40 million+ this year. With operations spanning multiple companies and locations across Florida, leadership is seeking a strategic and hands-on HR leader who can unify HR functions, strengthen organizational culture, ensure compliance, and create scalable systems that support continued expansion.
Candidates located in the Tampa Bay or Treasure Coast (Stuart) markets are strongly preferred. Hybrid and remote arrangements may be considered for exceptional candidates, with periodic travel required to company locations.
This individual will play a critical role in helping integrate multiple operating companies into a cohesive organization while developing the people strategy, processes, and infrastructure necessary to support long-term growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and strategic advisor to ownership.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy aligned with company growth objectives.
- Build and lead the HR function across multiple operating companies and locations.
- Drive organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
Human Resources & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Manage workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Support OSHA awareness, workplace safety programs, and compliance efforts.
Payroll, Benefits & HR Operations
- Oversee payroll administration and HR systems, including ADP.
- Manage benefits programs, renewals, employee enrollment, and vendor relationships.
- Establish scalable HR processes, reporting, and performance management systems.
- Develop HR metrics and dashboards to support executive decision-making.
Organizational Integration & Growth
- Standardize people processes across multiple operating companies.
- Create consistency in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee communications.
- Build the foundation for a unified organizational structure as the company continues to grow.
- Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational development.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
- Experience supporting multi-location organizations.
- Proven success building or scaling HR infrastructure within a growing organization.
- Strong background in employment law, compliance, employee relations, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Experience partnering directly with executive leadership teams.
- Demonstrated success leading recruiting and talent acquisition initiatives.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational development skills.
Preferred Experience
- Construction, roofing, manufacturing, home services, trades, or field-service industries.
- Experience supporting organizations with approximately 50–200 employees across multiple locations.
- OSHA compliance, workplace safety programs, and workers' compensation administration.
- High-growth organizations experiencing rapid expansion.
- Multi-entity or multi-company environments.
- Organizational integration, consolidation, or M&A-related experience.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
