Midrand, Gauteng (Hybrid) 12-Month Contract (Possible Extension) A leading Investments Institution is seeking an experienced Head: PMO to lead and strengthen the Programme Management Office function across strategic enterprise initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and driving PMO governance, portfolio oversight, delivery frameworks, reporting standards, resource management, and strategic execution across a complex organisational environment. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience managing enterprise portfolios, transformation programmes, and executive stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the enterprise PMO function across strategic programmes and projects. Establish and maintain PMO governance frameworks, methodologies, standards, and controls. Drive alignment between strategic objectives, portfolio prioritisation, and programme delivery. Provide oversight across enterprise programmes to ensure delivery within scope, budget, quality, and timelines. Develop and maintain enterprise portfolio reporting, dashboards, RAID logs, and executive reporting packs. Monitor programme and project performance, risks, dependencies, and resource utilisation. Facilitate governance forums, steering committees, and executive decision-making processes. Ensure consistent application of project management methodologies across the organisation. Support business transformation, digital modernisation, and strategic change initiatives. Oversee portfolio financial tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and benefits realisation processes. Drive continuous improvement across project delivery, governance, and PMO maturity. Lead and mentor PMO teams, programme managers, project managers, and delivery professionals. Collaborate with executives, business leaders, technology teams, and external vendors to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives. Strategic Focus Areas Enterprise portfolio governance Programme and project delivery oversight PMO maturity and optimisation Resource and financial management Transformation and change enablement Executive reporting and strategic alignment Risk, dependency, and issue management Minimum Requirements Relevant Degree in Business Management, Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years' experience in PMO, Programme Management, Project Delivery, or Portfolio Management roles. 5+ years' experience leading enterprise PMO functions or large-scale programme delivery environments. Proven experience within large enterprise or complex corporate environments. Strong understanding of: PMO governance and operating models Portfolio and programme management Project delivery methodologies Financial and resource management Change and transformation management Experience managing enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and executive reporting. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments. Advantageous Experience within financial services, development finance, or public sector environments. PMP, Prince2, MSP, Agile, SAFe, or PMO certifications advantageous. Experience with project and portfolio management tools such as: MS Project Jira Azure DevOps Clarity Power BI Confluence Exposure to enterprise transformation and digital modernisation programmes.
