We’re looking for a Head of Growth! About the Role SnapScan is South Africa's most recognised QR payment platform, backed by the Standard Bank Group. For the first time, we are building a dedicated commercial team from the ground up, and we need an innovative, high-impact leader to steer the ship. This is not a traditional sales manager role. As our Head of Growth, you will lead a commercial leadership function that requires equal parts strategic clarity and execution discipline. You will govern two commercial horizons: Horizon 1 (the defence and growth of our existing merchant base) Horizon 2 (the expansion into new channels and enterprise accounts). Finding the perfect harmony between growing and retaining is the true art of this role. Reporting directly to the CEO and based in Cape Town, you will shape SnapScan's commercial future, ensuring smooth pipeline operations, fostering a highly motivated team, and unlocking massive transaction volume across South Africa. If you have a strong strategic and commercial mindset and thrive on turning high-level strategy into tangible revenue through real-world execution, this role is for you. Key Responsibilities include: 1. Revenue & Strategy Formulation Accountable for owning total commercial revenue across all products, markets, and geographies. Setting and governing quarterly Horizon 1 and Horizon 2 targets in partnership with the CEO. Identifying areas for continuous improvement and staying on top of new trends in the fintech, commercial, and operational space. 2. Team Leadership & Coaching Building, leading, coaching, and developing a cohesive commercial team of eight (including our Business Development Manager, Key Account Manager, Marketing Manager, CRM Lead, and four Sales Agents). Fostering a highly motivated culture of operational excellence, ensuring the team upholds SnapScan’s high standards. 3. Pipeline & Metrics Management Maintaining strict HubSpot CRM pipeline discipline and data integrity across the team. Driving performance by analysing and interpreting transaction data, pipeline health, and commercial metrics. Delivering a comprehensive weekly commercial report to the CEO covering activations, pipeline status, churn, and NPS. 4. Stakeholder & Enterprise Management Representing SnapScan in strategic partnership and enterprise conversations alongside the Business Development Manager. Building and maintaining robust relationships with C-suite stakeholders and corporate partners. This job may be perfect for you if you: Have high commercial energy, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Confidently lead others through times of uncertainty and growth. Have a solid grasp of data analysis and the communication skills to distil complex metrics into simple, actionable insights Value deep, company-wide collaboration to deliver excellent merchant experiences. Are level-headed and cool under pressure. When market dynamics change, you know how to roll with the punches. Have a strong strategic and commercial mindset and deal effectively with senior stakeholders. Enjoy being hands-on and actively involved in execution Have developed effective emotional intelligence and authenticity, allowing you to easily build trust, read a room, and establish strong working relationships across all management levels You are our ideal candidate if you have: A Bachelor’s degree, Post-Graduate, or MBA in a relevant field (or deep, indisputable equivalent experience). A minimum of 8 years of commercial experience, with at least 3 years in an executive or team leadership role. A proven track record in a B2B sales or growth leadership role within financial services, fintech, or SaaS environments. Well-rounded experience navigating both corporate structures and fast-paced tech startup environments. A deep, native understanding of the South African MSME and merchant landscape. Hands-on proficiency with CRM systems (specifically HubSpot or Salesforce). Advantageous: Experience in QR payments, digital wallets, or POS tech; existing relationships in SA retail/hospitality; or experience building a commercial sales team from scratch. The benefits of joining our team: A competitive salary 30 days of annual leave A medical aid subsidy/fringe benefit of up to R2,000 per month An Apple MacBook Air and the necessary gear Discretionary annual performance bonus Flexible hybrid working models (work from home or our Cape Town office) Paid undercover parking or city parking reimbursement 3 days of Mental Health Leave per year Creative, vibrant culture with endless opportunities to learn Would you be a good fit?
