About The Role
The Video and Motion Graphics Editor at Rising Tide Interactive plays a vital role in conceptualizing and producing compelling political video content tailored for digital platforms. This creative professional is responsible for transforming scripts into engaging visual stories, utilizing a range of techniques including motion graphics, visual effects, animation, and audio integration. The ideal candidate is experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously, from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring each piece aligns with strategic messaging and platform specifications. Flexibility, creativity, and a keen eye for detail are essential to succeed in this fast-paced environment. The role offers the option to work remotely or from our Washington, DC office, with a contract running through November 2026, with potential for extension based on mutual interest and business needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of professional video editing and motion design experience
- Proficiency in creating video content for digital platforms and social media, including Reels, Stories, TikTok, etc.
- Strong understanding of the entire video production process from concept to completion
- Experience with media asset management platforms
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in digital video creative
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Quick editing skills with a strong sense of pacing, music, graphics, and storytelling
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams and clients at all levels
- Flexibility and resilience to adapt to changing priorities and challenges
- Interest or experience in Democratic politics or advocacy is preferred
- Proficiency in relevant editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar tools
- Understanding of social media video specifications and tactics
Responsibilities
- Take video projects from script to final product, following written instructions and creative direction
- Balance and manage multiple projects at various stages of production, ensuring timely delivery
- Develop creative concepts based on provided scripts and make independent design decisions
- Utilize original and stock footage, motion graphics, visual effects, and audio to craft compelling videos
- Stay updated on digital video trends and best practices to enhance content quality and effectiveness
- Coordinate remote video shoots, manage voiceover artists, stock footage, and background sound
- Ensure high-quality output that aligns with strategic messaging and platform requirements
- Communicate project timelines and adjustments clearly with team members
- Assist in finding and managing assets for video production
- Contribute to a collaborative environment by providing creative input and feedback
