Cumulocity serves more than 200 customers in over 20 countries with around 300 employees. Following an investor-backed Management Buy-Out in January 2025, we are an independent scale-up on a high-growth trajectory, building internal corporate functions that support our customers, employees and investors.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Finance Systems Manager to own and scale Cumulocity’s finance technology landscape. This is a hands-on transformation role in a small, globally distributed Finance team and a key part of our Target Operating Model.
Our finance vision is to move from fragmented, externally driven finance processes to scalable internal finance control. We are building an internally owned finance backbone for SaaS / IoT growth, multi-entity reporting, reliable KPIs and investor-grade transparency.
You will be the functional owner for the cloud hosted finance systems stack, including ERP, billing / revenue tooling, AP / spend management, Lucanet consolidation and reporting, BI interfaces, finance data models and workflow automation. You will work closely with the CFO, Accounting & Tax, Controlling, IT, Sales Operations, Customer Success, implementation partners and software vendors.
You are expected to drive and execute the full product lifecycle from selection, to implementation, continued improvement & maintenance to testing and user support. The ideal candidate combines strong finance operations know-how with a digital-native mindset and proven finance systems ownership. This is not a pure FI / IT role: you will use technology to improve accounting, closing, billing, reporting and controls, while actively exploring AI and automation opportunities where they create practical value.
What You Can Expect
- High ownership in shaping the finance systems backbone for an international Industrial IoT scale-up.
- Direct collaboration with the CFO, CTO and Finance leadership on ERP, billing, AP / spend, Lucanet, reporting and automation decisions.
- A practical transformation role at the intersection of Finance, IT, data, process design and change management.
- The opportunity to build scalable data models, approval workflows, system controls, integrations and reporting automation.
Responsibilities
- Own and continuously develop Cumulocity’s finance systems roadmap across ERP, billing / revenue tooling, AP / spend management, Lucanet, BI interfaces and automation.
- Act as functional product owner and primary Finance contact for system configuration, workflows, single-sign login integration, user roles, permissions, integrations, reporting structures and controls.
- Lead or co-lead finance system selection, implementation and rollout workstreams, including requirements, vendor evaluation, UAT, cutover, documentation, training and change management.
- Design and implement automation using AI tooling where appropriate to reduce manual effort, duplicate approvals and process risk.
- Translate requirements from Accounting & Tax, Controlling, AP, AR, Treasury, Sales Operations and business stakeholders into scalable, well-controlled system configuration, automation and solutions.
- Own the finance data model and governance for chart of accounts, cost centers, entities, intercompany partners, customers, vendors, products, revenue attributes, ARR logic and reporting dimensions.
- Own the financial part of the Cumulocity Lakehouse, including data retrieval from operational systems and transformation into silver and gold layers with related KPIs.
- Improve data quality, integrity and auditability through master data ownership, change controls, reconciliations, interface monitoring and documented sign-off procedures.
- Partner with Accounting & Tax to ensure postings, accruals, intercompany flows, VAT / tax-relevant data, audit trails and close processes are properly reflected in the systems.
- Manage software vendors and implementation partners, including backlog prioritization, issue resolution, release management, and service quality.
- Establish a finance systems support model for end users, including issue triage, root cause analysis, training materials and continuous improvement routines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; equivalent practical experience is also valuable.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in finance operations, finance transformation, ERP / finance systems ownership, accounting technology or FP&A systems, ideally in an international software, SaaS or scale-up environment. Candidates should bring strong finance process depth, not only IT implementation experience.
- Hands-on experience with ERP or finance platforms such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, Sage, Odoo or comparable systems; implementation or functional ownership experience is preferred.
- Experience with adjacent tools such as billing / revenue platforms, AP / spend tools, consolidation tools, reporting / BI tools or planning systems is highly relevant.
- Deep practical understanding of record-to-report, including accounting close, accruals, reconciliations, intercompany, consolidation, audit trails and reporting controls.
- Strong order-to-cash and SaaS / IoT revenue process knowledge, including billing, usage / subscription logic, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, ARR / MRR data and customer / product dimensions.
- Strong purchase-to-pay and spend management process knowledge, including AP invoice workflows, approval controls, vendor master data, VAT / tax-relevant information, cash management and compliance requirements.
- Good understanding of finance data models, master data governance, reporting dimensions, interfaces, APIs, data quality checks and system-driven controls.
- Ability to translate complex Finance and data topics into pragmatic process flows, user stories, test cases and implementation plans.
- Strong project management skills across stakeholder alignment, vendor coordination, UAT, release management, documentation, training and change management.
- Structured, hands-on working style with high ownership, attention to detail and a clear focus on simplification, automation, scalability, controls and user adoption.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across Finance, IT, business teams, vendors, senior leaders and remote international teams.
- Excellent English skills in speaking and writing. German skills are a plus.
What We Offer
- Opportunities for growth in a fast-paced, high-impact global organization.
- The opportunity to shape Cumulocity’s finance systems landscape, automation roadmap, data model and internal finance operating model.
- Direct impact on faster close, reliable KPIs, lower manual effort and investor-grade transparency.
- A dynamic and collaborative work environment at the forefront of Industrial IoT innovation.
- Flexible remote / hybrid working arrangements.
