The Opportunity We are seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic, and hands-on Finance Controller / Finance Manager to lead and strengthen our finance function during a period of rapid growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role in financial planning, cash flow management, operational decision-making, financial reporting, and process improvement. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems, driving business performance, and partnering with leadership to support long-term growth. The successful candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, can work independently with minimal supervision, and thrives in a company where initiative, ownership, and adaptability are valued. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Planning * Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities. * Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making. * Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team. * Monitor company performance against budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators. Accounting & Reporting * Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. * Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports. * Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements. * Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance practices. * Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and financial advisors. Business Performance & Operations * Analyze profitability by customer, product, channel, and business unit. * Monitor inventory, working capital, receivables, payables, and operating expenses. * Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and cash flow. * Support pricing, margin, and investment decisions through financial analysis. * Establish and track KPIs that support business growth and operational excellence. Systems & Process Improvement * Maintain and optimize financial systems, reporting processes, and controls. * Lead initiatives to improve financial visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency. * Support future scalability through process automation and best practices. Strategic Projects * Support fundraising, lender reporting, and strategic growth initiatives. * Participate in special projects, business planning, and expansion opportunities. * Collaborate with international suppliers, manufacturing partners, and stakeholders. Qualifications Required * Bachelor/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. * Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience. * Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management skills. * Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, management reporting, and business performance measurement. * Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and regulatory compliance. * Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online. * Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities. * Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision. * Fluency in Cantonese and hhMandarin is required. Preferred * CPA designation strongly preferred. * MBA considered an asset. * Experience in the food, beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), manufacturing, or distribution industries. * Experience supporting a high-growth, entrepreneurial, or founder-led business. * Experience with inventory management, cost accounting, and supply chain finance.
