WORKPLACE TYPE: Flexible hybrid working environment CLOSING DATE: 19 June 2026 JOB LEVEL: 4 POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for a motivated Field Supervisor, Agriculture and Forestry to be part of the Ghana team. You will be the Field Supervisor for Rainforest Alliance in the cocoa and forest landscape of Sui River, in the North West of Ghana. As the Field Supervisor, you will lead the ground-level implementation of sustainable land-use, agroforestry, and forest conservation projects within Ghana's critical cocoa-forest landscapes. You will lead the implementation of integrated landscapes and livelihoods programs in Ghana around sustainable landscape management, sustainable agriculture, forestry and livelihood empowerment. You will lead the design and scale up technical extension programs for smallholder farmers, focusing on shade-grown cocoa, soil health management, and integrated pest management (IPM). You will strengthen existing landscape management boards, and Community Resource Management Areas (CREMAs, conduct participatory mapping and secure community-level buy-in for forest protection agreements. The Field Supervisor will work to ensure cocoa supply chains remain entirely free of deforestation and comply with international regulations like the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), Ghana's Cocoa Forest Redd+ Program (GCFRP) and the Rainforest Alliance sustainable agriculture standards (RA SAS). WHAT YOU WILL DO: Oversee the day-to-day execution of agroforestry and forest restoration activities and meet project milestones, and donor-mandated KPIs; Train and support cocoa farmers in the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices following the strictest sustainability requirements of the Rainforest Alliance Sustainable and Regenerative Agriculture Standards; Lead the technical assistance work in the project landscape, especially collaborating with the established landscape management boards in the implementation of restoration and climate smart cocoa projects; Facilitate community participation and mobilization for technical project implementation; organize and facilitate community level training on sustainable farm management practices; Be a Rainforest Alliance representative in the Sui river landscape, attend meetings with local government and non-government institutions, conferences and promotional events; Contribute to landscape project planning, budgeting, strategic development, development of learning materials, case studies, and knowledge products to share project findings and lessons learned and contribute to projects' progress reports; Train Trainers on climate-smart agriculture (CSA) and regenerative agriculture for lead farmers and partner institutions; Experience in ecosystems development and in income diversification is advantageous. WHAT YOU BRING: Bachelor's degree in forestry, Agronomy, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Agricultural Extension, or a related field and/or equivalent professional qualification; At least 5 years field-based project management experience in the cocoa sector, forest conservation, or rural development in Ghana; Experience with Ghana's cocoa supply chain, integrated landscape management structures, HIA/CREMA mechanisms, and standard agroforestry shade-tree regimes; perience in training and capacity building for adults in the agricultural sector or rural development; Develop and maintain strong relationships of trust and confidence with farmers, farmer organizations and local stakeholders; Adapt to different cultures, and social contexts; Experience managing donor-funded projects, including budget management and reporting is desirable; English proficiency is essential; Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
