Position Summary Our healthcare client is seeking an experienced Epic Certified Resolute Hospital Billing (HB) Consultant with deep expertise in Single Billing Office (SBO) workflows and configuration. This consultant will support optimization, implementation, and operational initiatives focused on hospital billing, patient communications, financial assistance, estimates, denials management, and client billing processes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with Epic Resolute HB and a strong understanding of revenue cycle operations, billing communications, and patient financial engagement workflows. This role will partner with revenue cycle leadership, operational stakeholders, and Epic application teams to evaluate current-state processes, recommend best practices, and implement system solutions that improve efficiency, compliance, and patient experience. Key Responsibilities Resolute HB & SBO Workflow Expertise Serve as the subject matter expert for Epic Resolute Hospital Billing within a Single Billing Office (SBO) environment. Analyze, design, configure, and optimize billing workflows across the revenue cycle. Collaborate with operational leaders and technical teams to support system enhancements, workflow improvements, and organizational initiatives. Provide recommendations aligned with Epic best practices and industry standards. Patient Communication & Letter Workflows Configure and support all SBO letter workflows, including: Patient statements Detail bills Financial assistance communications Denial letters Follow-up notifications Estimates communications Regulatory and patient notification letters Ensure communication workflows support operational and compliance requirements. Support letter template maintenance, testing, and deployment activities. Estimates & Patient Financial Engagement Configure and optimize Epic Estimates functionality. Support estimate templates, automation, and workflow design. Implement and maintain MyChart integration for patient estimate delivery and communication. Partner with revenue cycle teams to improve transparency and patient financial experience. Vendor Assignment & Billing Operations Configure and maintain vendor assignment workflows. Support integrations and operational processes related to: Statement vendors Print vendors Billing vendors Third-party billing services Manage associated system actions, workqueues, billing activities, and workflow automation. Workqueues & Communication Management Design, configure, and optimize communication-related workqueues. Support billing activities and deferred notification workflows. Evaluate workflow efficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance staff productivity and account resolution. Printing & Detail Bill Processes Support enterprise printing workflows within the SBO environment. Configure and maintain attorney detail bill workflows. Ensure accurate generation, distribution, and tracking of patient billing communications. MyChart Communications Configure and optimize patient-facing communications delivered through MyChart. Support digital engagement strategies that improve patient access to billing information and account management tools. Collaborate with patient access and revenue cycle teams to streamline communication delivery. Financial Assistance Support Epic Financial Assistance workflows, including: Financial Assistance letters Self-pay discount table configuration Eligibility workflows Notification and communication processes Ensure workflows align with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Denials Management Configure and support denial-related workflows, including: Denial letters Denial workqueues Follow-up processes Operational reporting and tracking Partner with revenue cycle teams to improve denial resolution and reimbursement outcomes. Client Billing Support Client Billing configuration and operational workflows. Collaborate with business stakeholders to optimize billing processes, account management, and customer communications. Provide recommendations for workflow improvements and automation opportunities. Requirements Required Qualifications Current Epic Resolute Hospital Billing (HB) Certification. Minimum 5 years of Epic Resolute HB experience in a healthcare environment. Demonstrated expertise supporting Single Billing Office (SBO) workflows. Extensive experience with Epic billing communications, statements, and letter generation. Strong knowledge of hospital revenue cycle operations and patient financial services. Experience configuring workqueues, billing activities, system actions, and workflow automation. Experience supporting Financial Assistance, Estimates, Denials, and Client Billing workflows. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting large health system implementations, upgrades, or optimization initiatives. Knowledge of MyChart patient financial communications and digital engagement strategies. Experience with vendor management and print services integrations. Prior consulting experience in Epic revenue cycle environments. Multiple Epic Revenue Cycle certifications preferred. Experience leading workflow design sessions and operational optimization efforts.
