This role focuses on building secure data structures, implementing healthcare data integrations, and enabling research workflows through API and interface development. The position works closely with research, clinical, and technical teams to support data exchange, validation, and visualization across systems. Key Responsibilities API Development & Integration Design, develop, and maintain APIs and interfaces supporting Epic research workflows Build integrations using healthcare standards including HL7 and FHIR Develop secure data transmission methods between external systems and Epic EHR Support integration with third-party applications and research platforms Epic System Development & Configuration Develop and configure complex Epic research interface functionality Build and support Epic clinical workflows for research initiatives Implement, test, and deploy Epic system enhancements for research use cases Maintain and optimize existing Epic interfaces and integrations Data Engineering & Validation Build secure data structures and validation processes for large datasets Support data analysis and preparation for visualization and reporting Ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with healthcare standards Security & Compliance Work with security teams to implement safe data transmission and storage practices Develop and maintain QA processes to ensure secure data flows within Epic Ensure compliance with enterprise healthcare security standards Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support Collaborate with research teams, clinical staff, and technical stakeholders Work with development teams to integrate FHIR-based solutions for clinical trials systems Support integration with research management platforms such as Oncore and related systems Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing Provide mentorship and support for junior team members Contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices within the team Support continuous improvement of development standards and processes Required Qualifications Epic Bridges Certification 7 or more years of experience supporting Epic technical build and interface development Experience working with Cloverleaf integration engine Strong experience with HL7 and FHIR integration standards Hands-on experience developing APIs and web-based integrations Strong understanding of healthcare data systems and EHR integrations Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Epic research or clinical research workflows Core Skills & Attributes Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to design secure and scalable data integration solutions Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently in complex healthcare environments Attention to data integrity, security, and compliance Ability to mentor and support team development This is a remote position.
