Enterprise Kubernetes Architect

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension). Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands. Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate! Experience: 8-10 years. Hybrid: 2 days Work from Home 3 days Work from Office Your Profile & DNA: We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Kubernetes Architect to drive Kubernetes architecture standards and best practices across the organization. In this role, you will act as an ambassador for the guidelines established by the Central Platform Team, working closely with system and domain architects across multiple CIO streams, clusters, blocks, and grids. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Kubernetes across both on-premises and Microsoft Azure cloud environments, combined with strong communication and stakeholder management skills to influence architectural decisions and ensure platform consistency. Roles & Responsibilities Champion and implement Kubernetes architecture standards, principles, and guidelines defined by the Central Platform Team. Act as a trusted advisor to system architects, domain architects, and engineering teams across multiple business and technology domains. Review, challenge, and guide architectural designs to ensure alignment with enterprise platform standards. Drive the optimization, scalability, security, and reliability of Kubernetes platforms across on-premises and Azure environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices for container orchestration, platform engineering, and cloud-native adoption. Support governance activities and architectural reviews for Kubernetes-based solutions. Promote consistency, automation, and operational excellence across Kubernetes clusters. Facilitate stakeholder discussions and influence technical decision-making at enterprise level. Qualification & Experience A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent. Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes architecture and platform design . Strong experience working with Kubernetes in both on-premises and Microsoft Azure cloud environments . Deep understanding of containerization, cloud-native architectures, and platform engineering principles. Experience defining and enforcing enterprise architecture standards and governance. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to influence and challenge architects and senior technical stakeholders constructively. Experience with enterprise-scale Kubernetes deployments. Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation frameworks. Familiarity with security, networking, observability, and operational best practices in Kubernetes environments. Experience working within large-scale enterprise organizations and complex architecture landscapes. What do we offer?
