Emergency Management Professional Education Services Reports to: D irector of Education Services Job Overview: Canadian Disaster Response Organization (CDRO) currently offers three service portfolios for our growing customer base, including Deployment Services, Advisory Services, and Education Services. The Emergency Management Professional - Education Services will be responsible for the preparation, delivery, evaluation, and assessment of courses that they are assigned to. Education Services includes the provision of training expertise to fulfill client needs. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential for this role. Certification for assigned courses must be attained and maintained by this individual. Mentoring opportunities are available to successful incumbents to further broaden their teaching credentials. Success will be measured using multiple variables including but not limited to customer satisfaction and the number of courses delivered. Responsibilities & Duties: An Emergency Management Professional assigned to the role of education services will be required to fulfil the following responsibilities and duties: · Responsibility: Attain and maintain certification for courses they wish to deliver. · Responsibility: Maintain 95% customer satisfaction rating. · Responsibility: From time-to-time act as a subject matter expert to contribute to the design and development of newly developed curriculum. · Responsibility: Maintain excellent working relationships with course participants. · Responsibility: Manage the successful delivery of courses for the time period allocated for each course. · Duties: Ensuring all certifications and qualifications concerning the Courses offered by CDRO are input in CDRO’s BambooHR profile. · Duties: Preparation for the delivery of course materials. · Duties: Ensuring all assets required for the delivery of a course are available, and tested, including but not limited to exercises, exercise materials (post-it-notes, markers, flip chart paper , etc.) technology such as Zoom, Teams, Goto Webinar or any other video conference-based software. · Duties: Delivery of course materials in a manner that is engaging for the participant and includes a broad approach for the delivery of both theoretical, practical, meaningful, and relevant content. · Duties: Ensuring exam materials are collated, accounted for, and accurately assessed in a timely manner. · Duties: All post course activities are completed including student evaluations, course evaluations, and summary of the overall delivery of the course in a timely manner. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Social Science; and/or diploma · Certificates awarded by ICS Canada and or EMO to demonstrate teaching capacity. · 5+ years of experience in adult education & emergency management · Must enjoy presenting information in front of large audiences and have a passion for people.
