THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled and talented EDA CAD Engineer to play a key role in develop and maintain the state-of-the-art solutions for our EDA tools and flows. Hiring Manager: Christian Borelli , Founder and CSO. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES EDA & CAD Enablement Manage, maintain, and support the company’s EDA environment , including tools from Cadence, Siemens, Synopsys , and related ecosystems. Design, automate, validate, and document robust CAD flows for: Circuit simulation Physical verification (DRC/LVS) Parasitic extraction (PEX) Reliability and sign-off analysis Install, qualify, deploy, and maintain PDKs for advanced CMOS and Photonic technology nodes, including FinFET and GAA processes. Act as a technical bridge between analog designers, layout engineers, test teams , and EDA vendors , resolving complex tool, flow, and methodology issues. Continuously improve flow robustness, runtime, and usability across projects. Compute & Infrastructure Create and support tooling and workflows around EDA and engineering workloads, requiring scripting, coding, and build-system knowledge. Deploy, operate, and maintain compute infrastructure (on-prem and/or cloud) using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) frameworks such as Ansible and Terraform . Maintain and evolve core engineering services, including: License servers VPN and secure remote access Central authentication (e.g. LDAP) Shared file and object storage Operate and optimise a cluster compute environment capable of scheduling diverse, resource-intensive workloads. Monitor and analyse system health and utilisation using observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Zabbix), proactively addressing performance and reliability issues. Partner with engineering teams to optimise workloads , debug bottlenecks, and scale compute resources effectively. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Technical Skills M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 10+ years of industry experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design and/or design enablement. Strong expertise in CMOS process technologies , deep sub-micron nodes, and mixed-signal layout methodologies. Hands-on experience with FinFET technologies at 7 nm and below . Proficiency with major EDA tools (Cadence, Siemens, Synopsys). Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems and shared compute environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail. Nice to Have / Bonus Experience Experience with workload management systems (e.g. Slurm, LSF, SGE). Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Singularity, Kubernetes). Familiarity with build systems such as Bazel. Experience diagnosing and resolving network, storage, CPU, and memory bottlenecks across complex EDA workloads. Proficiency in modern scripting or software languages used for automation and infrastructure tooling.
