We now need a leader capable of consolidating execution across varied school frameworks, elevating academic leadership standards, and serving as the public representative of a movement rooted in disciplined learning science. This position is not about theoretical academia. It's an operational leadership charge. You'll control the academic strategy in action, establish explicit standards, pinpoint performance shortfalls, and develop elite teams to produce measurable outcomes. You'll convert our scientific underpinnings into operational rigor and advocate for this model globally. What You Will Be Doing Developing academic structures that convert learning science into actionable direction for curriculum design, motivational frameworks, and application development. Overseeing academic performance assessments with Heads of Academics to guarantee school teams remain aligned, responsible, and outcome-focused. Integrating data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem evaluations that identify the most impactful obstacles to learning acceleration and recommend concrete solutions. Ensuring strategic coherence through planning processes, continuous feedback mechanisms, and progress monitoring to sustain concentration on student achievement objectives. Serving as the principal representative of 2 Hour Learning in high-stakes environments, including keynote presentations and consultations with Ministries of Education, to catalyze fundamental shifts in global educational thinking. What You Won’t Be Doing Engaging with disconnected curriculum initiatives that fail to produce systemic transformation. Producing theoretical research detached from student outcomes or practical implementation. Transferring accountability for results to mid-level managers or external advisors. Depending on institutional prestige or conceptual frameworks to convince doubtful audiences. Director Of Academics Key Responsibilities Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by harmonizing implementation across schools, reinforcing leadership benchmarks, and establishing yourself as the authoritative voice of a movement founded on rigorous science and demonstrated results. Basic Requirements Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc. Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment) Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
