Director Medical Affairs

Overview:

This is a newly created medical affairs role at a high-growth startup operating at the intersection of physician-dispensed skincare and regenerative medicine. You will be the company's first dedicated medical affairs leader: building the function from the ground up while serving as the scientific backbone for a proven skincare portfolio (fastest growing PDS brand) and a next-generation innovation pipeline backed by novel exosome technology discovered by researchers at the Mayo Clinic.

Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, you will have meaningful influence over product positioning, evidence strategy, Key opinion Leader (KOL) relationships, and the regulatory and scientific narrative that will define this brand & unique technology with the dermatology and aesthetics community.

Key Responsibilities:

Scientific Communications Strategy

• Define and own the scientific narrative across both the topical skincare portfolio and the pre-launch injectable — including MOA stories, data hierarchy, and substantiation frameworks
• Support development of phase IV study & Publications strategy for physician dispensed skincare portfolio

Claims Substantiation & Regulatory Support

• Partner with marketing, legal, and regulatory teams to review and substantiate product claims, ensuring compliance with FDA, MoCRA, and applicable cosmetic and drug claim standards.

KOL & Investigator Engagement

• Identify, map, and cultivate relationships with dermatology, plastic surgery, and aesthetics thought leaders nationally

Field & Medical Education

• Translate clinical, mechanistic, and pre-clinical data into compelling, compliant content including advisory material, internal/external training decks, sales materials, and responses to medical inquiries
• Develop HCP education programs: speaker training, webinars, dinner programs, and on demand content

Qualifications:

• 6+ years in Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, or Medical Education — ideally spanning both cosmetic and pharmaceutical/biologic environments
• Firsthand experience with physician-dispensed skincare, aesthetics injectables, or exosomes technology
• Proven ability to interpret clinical data and translate complex science into clear, compliant communication
• Proven track record/credibility in building KOL relationships and supporting evidence generation programs
• Experience in a startup or early-stage company — comfortable operating without a large team or established infrastructure
• Excellent written and verbal scientific communication skills

• This is a remote position. 30-50% travel will be required.
