GENERAL SUMMARY: The Director will have a passion for research & account management to drive improvements and standardize processes within ENGINE’s Digital Hives business. Will oversee key elements of market research online community projects for clients as well as partner in client conversations as the research design. This role will have an overall responsibility to ensure quality control of key elements of the research process. Additionally, the Director will have a significant role in the training, development, and management of more junior staff. RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand client goals and develop creative learning agendas to capture client objectives. Collaborate effectively with Client Advisory, Sales, Data Operations, and external venders and partners to ensure the overall quality and timely execution of client deliverables. Rigorous research design, planning, and oversight of execution excellence for client engagements. Review all project specifications with the Client Advisory and Sales team at the onset of each engagement to ensure complete understanding of the objectives and potential outcomes. Deeply understand and educate on project management principles and best practices. Manage research and account management staff responsible for the design and programming of learing agendas. Review and ensure the testing of the programmed surveys meets the specifications and make suggestions as appropriate. Oversee the day-to-day execution of key elements of the of the research process related to survey scripting, data collection, and tabulation. Contribute to the training and management of junior staff. Monitor project budgets and provide guidance to Client Advisory and Sales leads to ensure each project is completed on-time and within budget. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong track record managing clients and developing trusted client relationships. Experience in fast paced supplier environments. Strong qualitative research background, specific online market research community experience highly preferred. Deep ability to translate research findings into compelling stories and reports. Embraces change and challenges norms in pursuit of constant process enhancements and effectiveness. Entrepreneurial approach; ability and desire to initiate the identification and pursuit of innovative ideas In-depth knowledge managing engagements across a variety of industry sectors: Financial Services, Healthcare, Consumer/Retail, Transportation, Technology, and/or Media. Proven problem solver and critical thinker; ability to see the big picture and connect the dots. Strong collaborator with an ability to forge effective relationships across various constituents in a distributed and non-hierarchical organization Strong track record developing trusted client relationships; demonstrated ability to support the organic growth of accounts and account retention. Deep understanding of project & research management best practices and standards; to maximize the execution and delivery excellence to clients. Ultimately, resulting in repeat request and account retention. Ability to thrive in a heavily matrixed environment REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Marketing research, Business, Psychology, Social Sciences or a related industry is required; Advanced degree is a plus. 4-6 years of experience Proven ability to write compelling deliverables Proficient in MS Word: PowerPoint, Excel Proven skills in writing and compelling storytelling
