Digital Operations Training Manager
Primary Eyecare Services is the largest not-for-profit leading provider of NHS primary and community eye care services in England.
Established over a decade ago in the North West, we now operate nationally, delivering enhanced eye care through a network of over 3,000 optometry practices, 6,500 clinicians and over 25,000 support staff.
We work with NHS commissioners and Trusts to provide accessible, high-quality eye care services in local communities, supported by teams with expertise in NHS contracting, patient support, referral triaging, telemedicine, digital operations and practice support.
About the Role
Primary Eyecare Services is recruiting for two GOC-registered Dispensing Opticians to join us as Digital Operations Training Managers.
These are two full-time, one-year fixed-term roles supporting the next phase of Primary Eyecare Services' digital training, operational readiness and practice support programme. The postholders will help optical practices, provider stakeholders and internal teams use agreed digital workflows and service processes confidently to support the delivery of enhanced optical services.
The postholders will play an important role in making digital processes practical, clear and manageable for busy optical practice teams. They will translate digital workflows, service pathways and operational processes into accessible training materials, guidance and support resources, ensuring users understand agreed workflows, role expectations and what these mean in day-to-day practice.
As GOC-registered Dispensing Opticians, the postholders will bring valuable optical sector credibility to the role. This is particularly important when working with optometrists, dispensing opticians, optical assistants, practice managers, multiples, smaller groups and independent practices.
This is not a technical system development role or a clinical leadership role. It is a practice-facing training, operational readiness and stakeholder support role focused on helping practices and internal teams use digital workflows consistently and confidently. The focus is on helping stakeholders feel prepared, informed and supported as service guidance, training materials and digital support arrangements continue to develop.
The role will work closely with Primary Eyecare Services' Digital, Communications, Clinical, Quality and Central Operations teams to ensure training is aligned with agreed service pathways, operational processes and stakeholder communication plans.
