PKWARE is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help build, maintain, and operate our infrastructure across both cloud and on-premises environments. You'll work across AWS, Azure, and GCP as well as on-prem infrastructure running on VMware vCenter, extending our infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines while keeping systems secure, reliable, and well-documented. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who is comfortable owning assigned work, learning fast, and collaborating closely with a team. The role operates on a distributed team across multiple time zones, so strong asynchronous communication and self-direction are essential. What You'll Do Maintain and extend existing infrastructure, following and building on established patterns and platform decisions. Maintain infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform and Ansible, keeping configurations consistent and up to date. Provision and manage resources to spec across AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as on-prem infrastructure on VMware vCenter, operating within the tooling and standards set by the team. Respond to alerts and incidents, triage issues, and apply fixes while escalating ambiguity when appropriate. Implement security controls as directed and participate in security reviews and remediation. Support team members with resource deployments and troubleshooting, responding to requests and helping keep pipelines running smoothly. Develop new tooling to support team members with infrastructure management. Write clear documentation and ticket updates so work is easy to follow and hand off. Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree preferred. 2–6 years of relevant experience required with: Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible. At least one major cloud provider — AWS, Azure, or GCP — and willingness to work across all three. Administering on-prem virtualization with VMware vCenter. CI/CD concepts and experience maintaining build and deployment pipelines. AI tooling such as Claude Code, Codex, or other AI coding and operations assistants or a willingness to learn. AWS CloudFormation stacks and AWS Control Tower. Kerberos authentication, including configuration and troubleshooting. Big data systems such as Hadoop or Cloudera Data Platform (CDP). Taking ownership of assigned tasks and driving them to completion. Creating, tracking, and managing work in Jira. Clear written communication skills and documentation of work. Familiarity with secrets management, IAM, and cloud security hardening. Operating across a distributed team and multiple time zones. You don't need to check every box. If you bring most of these skills and experiences and are excited about the rest, we encourage you to apply.
