The role

We are looking for a sharp, creative, and mission-driven Development Officer to help expand our impact across the Mediterranean and beyond.

In this position, you will identify and pursue funding opportunities, lead the development of proposals and related materials (especially EU proposals), and contribute to building and maintaining strong relationships with consortia, partners and donors.

Your work will sit at the intersection of strategy and delivery, translating ideas into compelling narratives while ensuring consistency, structure, and follow-through across the fundraising pipeline.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing detail with big-picture thinking and is motivated by enabling impact through strong partnerships.

Role & Responsibilities

You are a strong fit for this role if you thrive in evolving environments, balancing structure with adaptability, and have solid experience in fundraising and resource mobilisation. You are confident in producing high-quality written outputs such as EU and grant proposals, concept notes, and donor communications, and can independently manage multiple workflows with strong organisation and attention to detail. You connect day-to-day execution with broader strategic goals, build trust easily across diverse cultures, and bring experience in social innovation, philanthropy, sustainability, or similar mission-driven fields (a strong advantage).

In this role, you will:

• Identify and track relevant EU funding and grant opportunities aligned with Enaleia’s mission
• Write clear, compelling, and competitive proposals
• Build and coordinate international consortia and partnerships
• Support fundraising strategy and revenue diversification
• Collaborate internally to gather data, budgets, and impact stories
• Represent Enaleia in meetings, events, and partner discussions
• Apply for awards and visibility opportunities to strengthen funding potential

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Passion for marine ecosystem restoration & circular economy
• Proven experience and demonstrated success (at least 2 consecutive years) in proposal writing, fundraising, or donor relations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both the Greek and English language.
• Experience with EU Programs: Familiarity with LIFE, HORIZON, Interreg Med or EEA Grants.
• Technical Writing: Drafting, editing, and submitting high-quality proposals with a focus on impact and implementation.

Trial period

• Four-month probationary period
• Followed by, indefinite-term employment agreement (σύμβαση αορίστου χρόνου)
