About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Customer Support Specialist to join our dynamic, fully remote team. This role is ideal for a customer service professional with a background in pet health, insurance, or veterinary technology, who is eager to grow their career while making a meaningful difference in pet owners' lives. The Customer Support Specialist will work closely with our Sales and Claims teams, providing exceptional service to policyholders, potential clients, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of customer service experience, two years of insurance-related experience (preferably pet insurance), and a solid understanding of pet health issues. Strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and problem-solving expertise are essential for success in this role. The position involves handling inbound inquiries, resolving complex claims, supporting business initiatives, and ensuring a positive customer experience across multiple platforms. This is a Monday through Friday role, with flexible hours within the scheduled shifts, and is open for immediate hire.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of customer service experience, including handling sensitive and delicate issues
- At least 2 years of insurance experience, preferably in property & casualty (P&C) or pet insurance
- One or more years of veterinary technician or pet health experience (preferred)
- Strong technical proficiency and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple platforms and systems simultaneously
- Self-motivated with a proactive, positive attitude
- Flexibility to work both in-office and remotely, including potential weekend hours
- Ability to adapt processes and workflows as needed to improve efficiency
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Customer Service team to deliver exceptional, customer-centric service to policyholders and external parties
- Handle inbound calls, texts, tickets, and chat inquiries from existing policyholders, prospects, and partners
- Respond to initial complaints and provide feedback to management regarding customer concerns
- Investigate and resolve complex insurance claims, ensuring compliance with policy limits and terms
- Support claims and sales teams by streamlining workflows and providing relevant information
- Assist with payment collection issues and other operational initiatives
- Identify customer needs to enhance satisfaction and suggest process improvements
- Encourage customers to leave reviews and referrals to foster growth
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support organizational goals
