We are adding a part-time Content Relevance Checker to our team to help us review and verify our technical documentation drafts. We are looking for someone currently based in Portugal to occupy this fully remote position. This role represents a structured, part-time contractor engagement where you will work with our team to verify system guides against our actual codebase and technical project briefs. As we build databases and tools, our documentation pipeline uses automated drafts that require careful human inspection. Since our payment and business processes for Europe are established around Portuguese sole proprietorship rules, you must be a resident of Portugal to work with us as an independent contractor. About Pixel Systems Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not do flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that people usually try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another. We provide fixed quotes before we start, run weekly demos, and hand over clean code and complete documentation when we are finished. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain. In this role The core of your work involves the internal client-documentation QA cycle. You will audit AI-assisted technical documentation drafts, system logs, and integration guides to verify their consistency against actual source files and database schemas. You will plug directly into our internal technical review cycle, coordinating with our documentation lead to make sure our system guides are accurate before they reach our clients. Your day-to-day work involves checking technical claims against source materials, which include raw repository files and client requirements. You will follow a detailed review checklist within our shared workspace, documenting recurring writing issues, identifying unsupported or inaccurate statements, and verifying localized terminology for the Portuguese market. For instance, you will check that technical translations, local date formats, and regional financial terminology remain accurate for our European operations. This is a part-time independent contractor position requiring 15 to 20 hours per week. The compensation will be disclosed during the interview process, paid on a monthly invoice cycle in Euros. We expect our contractors to provide their own computer and standard browser environment; all documentation checks occur inside our shared markdown editor and online project tracker. The contract is offered on a rolling six-month basis. What we are looking for A university degree or equivalent professional training. At least two years of experience in documentation review, proofreading, QA, or technical writing. Excellent communication skills in English, with native or equivalent fluency in Portuguese to handle localization reviews. A basic understanding of databases, CRM software, or software systems, meaning you are comfortable working around technical terms. Great attention to detail, especially when checking complex text against technical source materials. Current residency in Portugal, with the ability to register and invoice us as an independent contractor as a sole proprietor (such as Recibos Verdes). Helpful background Familiarity with GitHub or markdown editors. Previous experience reviewing structured technical manuals or software documentation. Basic familiarity with SQL, Node, or API integration concepts. Working at Pixel Systems We offer a remote work environment without unnecessary management layers. Every project we build has a clear endpoint, and the documentation you help verify helps local systems operators and database managers do their jobs without system failures. There are no frantic midnight pages or shifting priorities. We set clear, weekly review queues so you can manage your part-time hours alongside your other commitments. We value structured, quiet, and predictable work. Our hiring process is straightforward and does not involve long tests or recruitment agencies. We will review your application, host a single video call to discuss your experience, and run a brief, paid documentation review exercise to see how we work together. If you are looking for a reliable, part-time technical QA engagement with an honest team of builders, we would love to learn more about your background.
