About the Role We are seeking an experienced Construction Defect Claims Examiner with 5–7 years of specialized claims handling expertise. This role involves managing complex claims, including litigated matters, and requires strong technical knowledge, investigative skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims involving alleged construction defects. Review building plans, codes, and specifications to assess liability, damages, and coverage. Manage communication with policyholders, builders, attorneys, and other stakeholders to set expectations and move claims toward resolution. Provide clear written and verbal reports, outlining coverage positions and resolution strategies. Participate in mediations and litigation processes, as needed. For senior or complex claims: navigate advanced coverage issues, risk transfer strategies, coordinate with counsel, and drive resolution planning. Requirements 5–7 years of construction defect claims handling experience. Litigation and mediation experience preferred. Proven ability to review and analyze coverage, liability, and damages. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present matters clearly and professionally. Experience with claims involving threshold exposures of $100K+. Active adjuster’s license required. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience adjudicating litigated construction defect claims. Ability to develop and execute resolution plans for complex or high-value claims. Strong background in coverage analysis and risk transfer.
