Client Accounting Team Lead

Client Accounting Team Lead Our client, a well-established CSP based in Malta, is looking for a Team Lead to join their growing team. The Team Leader will manage a portfolio of clients, build client relationships, and mentor junior team members. This is a hybrid role and the salary can go up to €50K for the right candidate who meets all the requirements of the role. Role & Responsibilities Mentor and support junior team members Act as the main point of contact for technical accounting queries Hold regular team catch-ups to monitor progress and gather feedback Complete management accounts and VAT returns for own client portfolio Review financial statements and VAT returns prepared by other team members Liaise with management and auditors to meet deadlines and improve service quality Attend client meetings for own portfolio and support junior staff in their meetings Assist with business development activities, including client engagement and writing articles Support performance appraisals, training needs identification, and compliance monitoring Ensure tasks within both your portfolio and the team’s portfolio are completed in line with statutory requirements and deadlines Report regularly to management on client and team matters Liaise with internal departments to obtain information required for financial reporting and statutory submissions Highlight and escalate significant accounting issues to management Education, Skills & Experience 2+ years senior-level experience in a client accounting environment in Malta Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant field Fluency in English, both written and spoken Strong knowledge of client accounting and VAT Excellent MS 365 skills (Excel, Outlook, Word) and SAGE Responsible and ethical when handling sensitive financial information Ability to work independently and within a team Strong problem-solving skills Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and multitask Self-starter with strong attention to detail About the Role Salary of up to €50K plus performance bonus Hybrid with flexible hours – on Fridays the office closes at 14:00 Free Parking Health Insurance & Wellness Allowance Opportunities to attend industry events Study leave and opportunities for career growth Due to the urgency of this role, we can only accept candidates who are already based in Malta.
