Cinematography Prompting Specialist (AI Training) About The Role We're looking for filmmakers, cinematographers, and visual storytellers to help train the next generation of AI video models. Your job is to watch short video clips and translate what you see into precise, technically accurate shot descriptions — using the language of cinema to teach AI how to see. This is a rare opportunity to apply your on-set knowledge and visual instincts to cutting-edge AI development, all from the comfort of your own workspace. Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: Flexible hours, work on your own schedule What You'll Do Watch short video clips and identify key shots, transitions, and visual choices Describe framing, camera movement, blocking, lighting, and composition using precise film terminology Craft structured prompts that capture the look, feel, and intent of each shot Reference relevant stylistic influences and visual traditions where appropriate Follow internal templates for shot-level and sequence-level descriptions Distinguish effective prompts from weak ones and provide examples when needed Maintain consistent terminology, depth, and clarity across all tasks Must-Have Who You Are Background in cinematography, camera operation, directing, editing, or film studies Confident using technical film language — focal length, blocking, motivated movement, depth of field, and more Sharp eye for visual detail: composition, lens character, lighting quality, and movement Clear, consistent written communication skills Ability to stay accurate and thorough across repetitive, detail-oriented tasks Nice To Have Experience writing prompts for AI video or image generation tools Professional credits as a DP, camera operator, director, or editor Familiarity with AI training workflows or annotation tools Why Join Us Put your film expertise to work on something genuinely new and impactful Work on cutting-edge AI projects with top research labs Fully remote and flexible — set your own hours and work at your own pace Freelance autonomy with the potential for ongoing, extended contracts Contribute to AI that understands the visual world the way a filmmaker does
