Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a full-time, remote role responsible for defining and executing the technology vision that supports Wilshire West Advisors’ real estate, construction, and asset management services. The CTO will oversee software development initiatives, including selection and integration of property management, workflow, and data platforms, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals. This role will lead technology roadmapping, collaborate with leadership on digital transformation, and evaluate new tools to improve operational efficiency, client experience, and vendor coordination. The CTO will manage technology projects end-to-end, establish best practices for architecture and cybersecurity, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver reliable, high-quality technology solutions. The role includes mentoring technical contributors and building a small, high-performing technology ecosystem through strategic use of vendors and in-house capabilities. Qualifications Strong background in technology vision and IT Strategy, including long-term planning, roadmap development, and alignment of technology initiatives with business objectives. Hands-on experience with Software Development and Product Development, including overseeing build vs. buy decisions, integrations, and iterative product improvement. Proficiency in Project Management, with a track record of leading cross-functional technology projects, managing timelines and budgets, and delivering measurable outcomes. Expertise in systems and solution Architecture, including designing secure, scalable, and maintainable platforms for operations, data, and customer-facing interfaces. Experience implementing or integrating real estate, property management, or related operational systems is highly beneficial. Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to influence non-technical stakeholders, mentor technical resources, and collaborate in a remote environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or equivalent experience is a plus. Familiarity with information security best practices, cloud platforms, and data privacy and compliance standards relevant to property and financial data.
