Our digital campaigns reach hundreds of thousands of supporters every month through email, SMS, WhatsApp, petitions, emergency appeals, and supporter engagement campaigns. We are looking for a highly motivated and emotionally intelligent Campaigns Writer to help us continue growing our impact. About the Role We are seeking an exceptional writer and campaign thinker who can consistently produce compelling advocacy and fundraising campaign concepts at pace. This is not a traditional communications role. We are looking for someone who understands how to emotionally engage supporters, create urgency without sounding repetitive, and rapidly turn investigations, rescues, prosecutions, and frontline operations into high-performing supporter campaigns. You will be responsible for producing campaigns and content across email, SMS, and WhatsApp for both UK and US audiences. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment involving difficult and emotionally distressing animal welfare content. Key Responsibilities Produce a minimum of 14 high-quality campaign and email concepts per week Write compelling advocacy and fundraising copy for: email campaigns, SMS campaigns, WhatsApp campaigns, petitions and action alerts, emergency appeals, and supporter engagement campaigns Develop emotionally compelling campaign angles from investigations, rescues, prosecutions, and operational updates Work closely with the Email Marketing Manager to support campaign planning and scheduling Adapt messaging appropriately for UK and US audiences Create urgency and supporter engagement without overusing repetitive messaging techniques Monitor trends and supporter engagement opportunities within the animal welfare and nonprofit sectors Extract stories and campaign opportunities from frontline operational activity and online news sources Assist with drafting media and press content when required Maintain strong organisational and time-management standards while working to tight deadlines Essential Requirements Previous experience working within the nonprofit sector is essential Experience working within animal welfare, advocacy, campaigning, or humanitarian organisations Exceptional writing and storytelling ability Strong understanding of direct-response fundraising and supporter psychology Ability to generate fresh campaign ideas consistently and rapidly Comfortable working with emotionally difficult animal welfare and cruelty-related content Excellent time-management and organisational skills Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment Strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Understanding of digital campaigning and supporter engagement strategies Ability to write in a tone that is emotionally compelling, urgent, and action-oriented Desirable Skills & Experience Experience writing fundraising emails with measurable performance results Experience with SMS and WhatsApp campaigning Understanding of audience segmentation and engagement strategies Experience drafting press releases or media-focused content Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce, Action Network, Fundraise Up, or email marketing systems What We’re Looking For The successful candidate will be: Highly creative and ideas-driven Fast-paced and proactive Emotionally intelligent Comfortable receiving feedback and adapting quickly Passionate about animal welfare and advocacy Able to maintain high-quality output under pressure Capable of balancing emotional storytelling with professionalism and credibility How to Apply Please submit your CV.
