Role: Business Analyst Location: Remote Classification: Contract to hire Hourly rate range: $55/h - £70/h Salary Range: $115,000 - $145,000 Position Summary The Organisation runs on a complex ecosystem of people, processes, and technology platforms. The gap between what the university needs and what its systems actually deliver is where institutional friction lives - missed deadlines, workarounds, manual effort that shouldn’t exist, and decisions made without the right information. You will sit squarely between our stakeholder groups - faculty, administrators, department chairs, clinical leaders - and the technology platforms that serve them: Jenzabar, Canvas, Athena, and the Microsoft Fabric data platform. You will understand problems deeply, design better processes, assess whether proposed technology changes will actually solve them, and see solutions through to working reality. Key Responsibilities Requirement Management: Gather, document, and translate stakeholder needs into clear business and technical requirements. Vendor & Tech Evaluation: Critically evaluate vendor configurations and system changes against documented needs; confidently push back when solutions fall short. Process Design: Map operational workflows and eliminate inefficiencies across academic, clinical, and administrative departments. Data Governance: Align all reporting outputs with internal Data Governance standards and reinforce approved metric definitions. Communication: Serve as the liaison between business users and technical teams, delivering transparent project and risk updates. Qualifications & Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst. Proven experience managing the full solution lifecycle (discovery to post-implementation). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-mapping skills. Technical Systems Skills: Student & Academic Systems: Jenzabar (J1/SIS/ERP), Canvas (LMS), CourseDog (scheduling), ExamSoft, EXXAT (clinical placement). Clinical Systems: Athena (EHR), NBCE board exam reporting. Administrative Systems: Jenzabar Financial Aid (JFA), Jenzabar Finance, Interfolio (faculty), Paycom (HR). Data Platform: Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse (Medallion Architecture), Power BI, Azure DevOps. Collaboration: Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Planner), Azure AD/Entra ID.
