Backend Django Engineer (Python/Django) | Remote

SpotterLabs is a fast-growing U.S.-based technology company building AI- and algorithm-driven systems for the transportation industry. We're looking for a talented Backend Django Engineer who enjoys building scalable backend systems, designing clean APIs, and solving complex business challenges with software. You'll work closely with a distributed international team and have ownership over backend features from architecture and data modeling through deployment and optimization.

What You'll Do

• Design and build backend services using Python and Django
• Develop and maintain REST APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF) or similar technologies
• Design scalable database schemas and data models
• Implement business-critical algorithms and backend logic
• Optimize application and database performance
• Build reliable, production-ready systems
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver features quickly
• Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering best practices

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with Python and Django
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and SQL
• Experience designing relational database schemas
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience implementing complex business logic
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
