AutoCAD Configuration & Electrical Standards Specialist Sydney/ Flexible Remote Options 3–6 Month Contract | Immediate Start | Extension Likely The Opportunity This is not your typical AutoCAD role. We're looking for someone who can step in quickly and shape how electrical utility designs are built, standardised, and delivered. You'll be the person behind the scenes making everything work smarter, from templates and standards to block libraries and technical specs. If you enjoy creating structure, improving workflows, and making life easier for designers and engineers, this role will suit you. What You'll Be Doing You'll sit at the intersection of CAD, electrical design, and systems thinking, helping bring consistency and efficiency to a large-scale utilities environment. Your work will include: Building and refining AutoCAD templates, standards, and plotting setups Creating and managing high-quality block libraries for electrical network assets Defining clear, usable drafting workflows across teams Supporting the development of equipment specification sheets used in real-world projects Collaborating with engineers and field teams to ensure designs are practical, accurate, and fit for purpose What You Bring We're not expecting perfection, but you should be confident in your craft and able to hit the ground running. You'll likely have: Strong experience configuring AutoCAD environments (templates, styles, standards) A solid background in block creation, ideally dynamic blocks with attributes Exposure to electrical or utilities projects (distribution networks, infrastructure, or similar) Experience working with technical documentation or specification sheets A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and consistency Nice to Have (but not essential) Experience with AutoCAD Map 3D or utility design tools Scripting or automation (LISP or VBA) Understanding of GIS, asset data, or spatial workflows Exposure to document management systems or structured CAD environments Why This Role?
