🌟 About the Internship

At ikipendence, we are creating an animated short series to spark ikigai awareness — helping people reconnect with their purpose, joy, and individuality.

About the Project: We are in the final stages of production for our 2D hand-drawn animated short film, Adventures of Kai. The storyboard is locked, the audio is set, and the majority of the film is already assembled. We are looking for a dedicated 2D Animator and Compositor to help us cross the finish line.

The Opportunity: This is a rare opportunity to bypass the years-long grind of pre-production and jump straight into the final polish of a near-completed film. In just one month, you will contribute the final missing pieces to the project and walk away with a polished, 5-minute production film for your showreel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Frame-by-Frame Animation: Sketch, draw, and complete the final missing 2D hand-drawn character sequences to match the existing art style.
• Compositing (Premiere Pro): Extract characters, integrate them seamlessly with pre-existing backgrounds, and manage alpha channels.
• Visual Enhancement: Clean up edge artifacts, adjust scaling, and ensure characters sit naturally within the scene's perspective.
• Timeline Assembly: Work with a pre-configured Premiere Pro master timeline to match your animation exactly to the locked dialogue and audio tracks.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience with digital 2D frame-by-frame animation (using Krita, OpenToonz, Adobe Animate, etc.).
• A solid understanding of compositing, masking, and video timeline management (Premiere Pro experience is highly preferred).
• A strong eye for character consistency, timing, and perspective.
• A portfolio or showreel demonstrating your 2D animation skills.
