AI Solution Engineer

AI Solutions Engineer

Hoofddorp + at client sites across the Netherlands

Full-time or 4 days (32–36 hours)

1–2 days remote per week

The role

You work directly with clients. You visit them, ask the right questions, understand the problem and translate it into concrete solutions you build and deploy yourself.

This means building:

• systems that extract, analyse and structure information from complex documents
• knowledge graphs that connect data across sources
• AI solutions that can reason over information, not just process it

Some of what you build is tailor-made for a single client. Other solutions evolve into reusable products used across multiple organisations. Together with a product owner or innovation lead, you define the approach and make decisions on technology and architecture.

You take ideas from initial concept through to production-ready solutions that are used in practice.

What you will do

· Design and build AI-assisted semantic technology solutions (graphRAG)

· Build pipelines for document processing and information extraction

· Work with semantic models and structured data

· Containerise applications and deploy them in cloud environments (AWS / Azure)

· Turn ambiguous problems into working prototypes and applications

· Collaborate with consultants, developers and product owners

· Spot gaps in existing solutions and propose improvements

You in this role

You have a background in software engineering, data science or cloud solutions. You're comfortable working on problems that aren't fully defined and you take ownership of your approach - from design to deployment.

What you bring

• 2–4 years of experience in software engineering, data science or cloud
• Strong Python skills
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, you have built with them, not just experimented
• You have taken something from idea to production before, regardless of scale
• You work independently and are comfortable with open-ended problems

Please note

• Candidates must already reside in the Netherlands and have a valid work permit
• We are unable to provide visa sponsorship or a relocation package for this role

To help us better understand your experience, please clearly mention in your CV:

• which AI / LLM solutions you personally built
• what your own contribution was
• whether the solution was used in production or by end users
• and which technologies you worked with (for example Python, RAG, vector databases, Docker, AWS or Azure)

A plus

• Experience with GraphRAG or knowledge graphs
• Experience with Docker and cloud deployments (AWS or Azure)
• Affinity with semantic models or structured data

You do not need prior experience with knowledge graphs, GraphRAG or RDF. You will learn this here. What you bring is the technical foundation and the ability to pick up unfamiliar territory quickly.

What we offer

• Salary between € 54,000 and € 70,000 gross p/y (full-time, 40 hours, including 8% holiday allowance). Where you land in that range depends on your experience and what you have independently built and deployed.
