Founding AI Research Engineer Remote (UK only) £180,000 - £280,000 base + equity DOE This is one of those founding-team opportunities that you can’t afford to miss. It’s at a well-funded AI research lab about to blast out of stealth mode, doing some novel work at the frontier of reinforcement learning. They’re moving into their next phase of growth after closing funding and are already working alongside major frontier AI labs. As a Founding RL Researcher, you will lead efforts to build novel algorithms and environments for training autonomous agents to do long horizon tasks. You will have real influence over technical direction from day one and work directly with experienced second-time founders. Core skills and experience required Strong background in reinforcement learning Hands-on post-training experience: RLHF, GRPO etc Experience designing or building RL environments grounded in real-world workflows Distributed training at scale Python and PyTorch Experience at a top-tier AI lab or company A blend of theoretical depth mixed with the ability to ship production systems Publications at top ML conferences, nice to have If you have worked on RL at a top lab or have production RL experience and want to push beyond the current RL paradigms into real-world, long-horizon intelligence, this is worth a conversation Apply with your CV or reach out to Ben Greensmith for more details.
