AI Product Builder / Technical Product Owner (AI)

Location: Remote (US) or Maryland-based

About the Role

We are building an AI-native product focused on understanding how work is actually performed and using that insight to automate workflows through AI agents.

This is not a traditional Product Owner role.

We are looking for a hands-on AI Product Builder who can both define and actively build, prototype, and ship AI-driven features.

You will work closely with engineering and leadership to translate real-world workflows into scalable AI systems, contributing directly to product development.

What You’ll Do

• Build and prototype AI-powered features (agents, workflows, automation)
• Work directly with engineers to implement and iterate on solutions
• Translate user behavior and business problems into working AI solutions
• Rapidly test ideas using LLMs and agent-based systems
• Contribute to architecture decisions and product direction
• Own end-to-end product development from concept to implementation

• AI features shipped to production, not just defined
• Fast iteration cycles with real implementations
• Scalable AI workflows that automate meaningful tasks
• Strong collaboration between product and engineering through execution

Requirements (Must Have)

• Experience building products from scratch (0 → 1)
• Hands-on experience building AI applications or features
• Ability to prototype and implement solutions using Python or similar
• Experience with:
• LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
• Agentic workflows
• RAG or similar architectures
• Strong ability to translate complex problems into working solutions
• Experience working in early-stage or fast-paced environments

Preferred

• Background as an engineer or highly technical product builder
• Familiarity with modern AI tooling ecosystems
• Bias toward action and ownership

Not a Fit If

• You are a traditional Product Owner focused only on backlog or stakeholder management
• You have not directly built or implemented AI features
• Your experience is primarily strategy, coordination, or delivery without hands-on execution
