We are seeking an experienced Accounting and Administration Officer to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role is responsible for managing accounts, reconciliations, payroll, reporting, and compliance activities while ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all accounting functions.
• Process and receipt electronic payments into company bank accounts
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare and issue client invoices
• Process supplier and creditor invoices
• Reconcile creditor accounts and prepare payments
• Process creditor payments and upload payment files to banking platforms
• Manage payroll processing, including tax and superannuation reporting
• Prepare and post monthly accrual journals
• Assist with the preparation of monthly Profit & Loss reports
• Prepare, lodge, and process monthly and quarterly BAS returns
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting, payroll, and taxation requirements
• Provide general administrative and accounting support as required
• Proficiency in MYOB and/or Xero
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
• Minimum of 7 years' accounting experience
• Previous experience working within an Australian business or accounting practice is highly preferred
• Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related field
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and compliance requirements
• Experience preparing and lodging BAS returns
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of accounting processes
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, professional, and highly detail-oriented
