Accountant AP/AR Specialist for a Purchasing Platform Company

Job Description: Accountant AP/AR Specialist Background Our clientm a leading B2B marketplace serving the property management sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant AP/AR Specialist to join their finance team and provide interim support beginning in October on a part-time basis (15-20 hours), then transition to full-time (40 hours) in December for 12-15 weeks. This role is crucial in maintaining the company's financial health and supporting the continued growth. Position Overview The Accountant AP/AR Specialist will be responsible for a variety of financial duties, including accounts payable, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable collections, sales tax management, and assisting with month-end close processes. Key Responsibilities ● Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communications ● Perform regular bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records ● Assist with accounts receivable collections, including following up on overdue payments and maintaining customer relationships ● Organize and maintain sales tax exemption certificates for eligible transactions ● Support the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and financial reports ● Collaborate with other finance team members to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Qualifications ● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ● 3+ years of experience in accounting ● Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices ● Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel ● Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills ● Strong communication and interpersonal skills ● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
