Product Manager & Subject Matter Expert – Accounting & Audit AI Salary: £60,000–£72,000 + Benefits + Equity Potential Remote opportunity with approx one day per week in London The Role: This is a unique hybrid position that sits at the intersection of deep accounting expertise and AI product development. You will act as both a Product Manager and a Subject Matter Expert (SME), helping to shape, validate and deliver AI agents that serve accounting and audit teams. Working closely with our engineering and design teams, you will translate complex accounting processes into clear product requirements, and ensure that everything we build reflects real-world practice, regulatory obligations and professional standards. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant who is genuinely excited by technology and wants to move into the world of AI-powered products — without leaving their professional expertise behind. Key Responsibilities: Product Management Define product requirements and user stories based on accounting and audit workflows Prioritise enhancements and new features based on user needs and business objectives Collaborate with engineering, design and commercial teams throughout the product lifecycle Support product strategy and roadmap development Act as a key stakeholder throughout delivery and release cycles Accounting & Audit Expertise Serve as the accounting and audit subject matter expert within the product team Map and document end-to-end accounting processes Validate outputs against accounting standards and industry best practice Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and AI Support customer demonstrations and discovery activities Quality & Compliance Ensure solutions remain technically accurate and compliant Review accounting logic and outputs prior to release Monitor developments in accounting and audit standards and assess product impact What You Bring: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification Strong post-qualified experience in practice and/or industry Excellent understanding of FRS 102, FRS 101 and IFRS Experience with financial reporting and month-end close processes Knowledge of audit methodologies and audit workflows Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Comfortable working alongside technical teams Desirable Product management, business analysis or SaaS experience Exposure to AI, automation or emerging technologies Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, NetSuite or SAP Familiarity with Jira, Confluence or similar tools What We Offer • A genuinely mission-driven team building something meaningful for the accounting profession. • The opportunity to shape AI product strategy from an early stage. • Flexibility in how, when and where you work. • Competitive salary and benefits package. • Investment in your continuing professional development, including support for ongoing CPD obligations.
