We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage core financial processes and ensure compliance with Australian taxation and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, hands-on experience with reconciliation, BAS preparation, and financial reporting, and be proficient in Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks, the Microsoft Office Suite, and ideally Airtable.
Responsibilities:
Account Reconciliation
Conduct weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reconciliations of all financial accounts to ensure alignment with bank statements.
BAS Preparation and Lodgement
Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) in compliance with ATO regulations.
Accurately calculate and report GST, PAYG withholding, and any other tax obligations.
Ensure timely lodgement and payment to avoid penalties and maintain compliance.
GST Management
Monitor and review GST transactions to ensure compliance with ATO guidelines.
Financial Reporting and Ad-hoc Financial Tasks
Generate and analyse financial reports including:
Profit & Loss Statements
Balance Sheets
Cash Flow Statements
Respond to ad-hoc financial data requests from management or external auditors.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting as required
Record Keeping and Documentation
Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and secure financial records including receipts, invoices, and transaction logs.
Ensure all record-keeping practices align with Australian accounting standards.

Must have demonstrated experience of 2-3 years in AU General Accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software. (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
Good understanding of Australian Tax Principles– including GST and FBT
Proven experience in Generating reports + preparing analytical reports.
Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Can start ASAP.
