Project Summary:

We are building an interactive digital map and experience centered around Nairobi. The project combines environment creation, character development, gameplay systems, and commercial software deployment.

Contributors joining this role will help develop the world, characters, and mechanics while becoming co-owners of the resulting intellectual property alongside the existing team under agreed project terms.

Momentum Labs will lead commercialization efforts including software distribution, market positioning, and sales activities. Revenue opportunities are expected through software deployment and map sales to customers and organizations.

Role Responsibilities

Environment & Map Development

• Build and optimize a detailed 3D representation of Nairobi
• Develop environments using Blender and Blosm workflows
• Model terrain, roads, landmarks, districts, and interactive spaces
• Optimize environments for Unity deployment

Character Development & Animation

• Create original stylized or realistic character assets
• Sculpt, model, texture, rig, and prepare characters for animation
• Develop character interaction systems
• Produce animation assets and motion-ready rigs

Gameplay Development

• Design and implement gameplay mechanics inside Unity
• Develop player movement, interaction, progression, and event systems
• Build immersive user experiences tied to the digital map
• Collaborate on game loops and feature iteration

Technical Integration

• Import and integrate Blender assets into Unity
• Optimize performance and asset pipelines
• Maintain organized project structures and version control
• Collaborate closely with developers and product leads

Required Qualifications

• Experience using Blender for 3D modeling and asset creation
• Experience with Unity development
• Understanding of character creation workflows
• Familiarity with animation pipelines and rigging
• Experience creating optimized assets for interactive applications
• Ability to work independently and within a distributed team
• Portfolio demonstrating relevant work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Blosm or GIS-based world building
• Knowledge of Unity animation systems
• Experience with procedural environments
• Understanding of multiplayer or simulation mechanics
• Experience with lighting, shaders, and performance optimization
• Familiarity with Git or collaborative production workflows

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for builders who want to contribute to creating a commercially deployable digital world rather than traditional freelance work. This position does not provide salary during development; compensation is based on participation in ownership and commercialization outcomes as defined in project agreements.
